Friend, The clock is ticking on the Farm Bill and horses, mules, and donkeys could use your help right now! National equine advocates have been working to pass the Save America’s Forgotten Equines Act (SAFE Act) that would make it illegal to both slaughter equines in the United States and to export them for slaughter to other countries. The best hope for passage of the SAFE Act right now is to include it in the Farm Bill. However, when the House Agriculture Committee released its Farm Bill draft last week, the SAFE Act was not included. But it is still possible to include the SAFE Act in the Farm Bill through an amendment! Call your U.S. Representative TODAY and urge them to pass the SAFE Act this year. “Hello, my name is ____, and I’m a constituent living in [your town/city].
