In violation of the CHIMP Act, chimpanzees retired from research remain in a lab facility on Holloman Air Force Base (AFB) in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
These poor creatures are languishing in inhumane conditions in an outdated, extremely costly lab facility that cannot meet the chimpanzees’ complex behavioral needs because the National Institutes of Health (NIH) refuses to send them to Chimp Haven, the federal sanctuary.
THE NIH JUST ANNOUNCED IT IS DENYING SANCTUARY TO ANOTHER 49 CHIMPANZEES HOUSED IN A LABORATORY IN TEXAS.
Your federal legislators have a chance to help them, but they need to hear that taking action for these chimpanzees matters to you!
The surviving chimpanzees in NM and TX were all subjected to years of painful experiments. After everything they have been through, they deserve the chance to experience the normal life of a chimpanzee: building nests, living in large, mixed-sex social groups, and having greater choice about their day-to-day lives in a beautiful, forested setting at Chimp Haven.
Please ask your Senators and Representative to tell the NIH that all of the surviving chimpanzees must be moved to Chimp Haven sanctuary.
Thank you for speaking up for the chimps!

Thank you for helping the Alamogordo chimpanzees.

Hello, my name is (full name) and I’m from (city). I’m concerned about government-owned chimpanzees housed in a laboratory on Holloman Air Force Base. These chimpanzees endured decades of painful taxpayer-funded experiments and they deserve sanctuary at Chimp Haven.
I strongly urge the Senator and/or Representative to tell the US Air Force and NIH the surviving chimpanzees must be moved from Holloman Air Force Base and the housing of other animals on base should be prohibited in the future.
Thank you for your hard work! Please thank Senator and/or Representative (last name) for standing up for animals.
